Find your happiness ✨

Slowing down… yes, but not falling asleep standing up 😄

Ralentir… oui, mais pas s’endormir debout 😄

After discussing calm, slowness, deep breathing, and dimmed lighting, one question deserves to be asked very seriously:

👉 Are we supposed to become a Zen monk in socks?

Rest assured.
At happymo.ch , we love peace and quiet… but we also love to laugh. Because slowing down isn't about stopping living. It's just about stopping running around and stressing for no reason .

The myth of perfect calm

When we talk about slowing down, we often imagine:

  • a quiet house

  • perfectly aligned candles

  • a zen playlist that never glitches

  • Children meditating (spoiler: no)

In real life, slowing down looks more like:

  • a blanket

  • a hot chocolate

  • a child who asks 47 questions

  • a cat that settles down exactly where it shouldn't

And that's perfectly fine.

Slowing down, the realistic version

Slowing down is not about doing yoga for 3 hours.
Sometimes it's:

  • sit for 5 minutes without looking at your phone

  • to say “we’ll see about that tomorrow”

  • accept that not everything is perfect

It's also recognizing that calm isn't always silent. Sometimes he laughs. Sometimes he yawns. Sometimes he spills his glass of water.

Calm is not incompatible with life

Good news:
We can slow down without becoming boring .

We can :

  • be calm and funny

  • to be poised and clumsy

  • Be zen… but forget where you put your keys

At happymo.ch , we love this kind of imperfect calm. The kind that resembles real life.

Cocooning, but without the pressure

Cocooning is not a Pinterest requirement.
No one hands out medals for “perfectly folded blankets”.

True cocooning is:

  • wrap yourself in a blanket that has already been used

  • turn on a soft light… even if it’s a little crooked

  • to sit down for “just 10 minutes” (which last 30)

And if someone falls asleep? Congratulations, mission accomplished.

And what about the children in all of this?

Slowing down with children is a sport in itself.
A sport without rules. And without a referee.

But even there:

  • A moment of calm can exist.

  • a gentle atmosphere can be established

  • A ritual can be created (even a chaotic one).

I only read half of the book.
A nightlight turned on too early.
A talking plush toy (yes, again).

It's not perfect.
It's alive.

Why laughter also helps to slow down

It's not talked about enough, but laughter is extremely relaxing .
It lowers the pressure.
He relaxes his shoulders.
He puts things back in their place.

Sometimes, slowing down simply means accepting that you can laugh at yourself.

In summary (without taking ourselves too seriously)

✔️ Slowing down doesn't mean being bored
✔️ Calm can be imperfect
✔️ Cocooning doesn't have to be aesthetically pleasing
✔️ Laughter is part of well-being
✔️ Real life is already enough

And now ?

If you have read this article:

  • in pajamas

  • under a blanket

  • with a warm cup

  • or by pretending to work

Know this:
👉 You are exactly where you need to be.

At happymo.ch , we believe in real well-being, not perfection.
Calmly... but with a smile.

(In the next article, we'll talk about a very serious topic: why we're always tired... even when we haven't "done anything".) 😄💛
